Anonymous, 209 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 20 mm, 3.00 g, 9 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet and pendant earring; behind, X (mark of value). Rev. ROMA The Dioscuri, each holding spear, on horseback galloping right; above their heads, two stars; to lower right, spearhead. Cf. Crawford 88/2b, RBW 371 and Sydenham 222 (for prototype). Nicely toned. Some scratches and with breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, privately acquired from Tom Cederlind (with original dealer's ticket).
